The “FERTILE” training in Madrid, Spain, organised by University Rey Juan Carlos
The training event was organised in three sessions:
- Face-to-face session for 6 hours, held on Wed 8 Jan 2025 at the Fuenlabrada School of Engineering .
- January 9 – January 25, 2025, Distance self-study (asynchronous)
- Synchronous online session for 1 hour, held on Fri 10 Jan 2025.
The training material was devided into four modules: Computational Thinking, Interdisciplinarity, the “FERTILE” design methodology and community platform and Blended Learning.
111 educators and advisors from regional Communidad de Madrid, participated in the training event.
The event was supported by Consejería de Educación, Ciencia y Universidades of Madrid (CECUM), who facilitated the recruitment of the trainees. The trainees were educators in charge of helping and teaching the entire primary and secondary education population in the Madrid region about technological topics.
The trainees explored the training materials created by the “FERTILE” project. They designed several Artful ER projects based on the “FERTILE” design methodology in the “FERTILE” Community Platform. They were highly engaged with the interdisciplinary combination of Educational Robotics and Arts to foster Computational Thinking skills, at all educational levels (from early childhood to primary and secondary education).
