Two “FERTILE” trainings in Valladolid, Spain, organised by Universidad de Valladolid and Universidad Rey Juan Carlos
The UVa research team opted to organise two training events to accommodate the needs of Spanish educators. Both events’ scope was to empower educators to design interdisciplinary projects that combine Educational Robotics and Arts, aiming to cultivate students’ Computational Thinking skills in a blended learning context.
11 Spanish educators from kindergarten and primary education participated in a training event held in Valladolid.
The 1st training event was organised as a blended training event at the Center for Teacher Professional Development and Educational Innovation in Valladolid, Spain. Its agenda included the following four synchronous face-to-face phases:
- Introduction to the FERTILE Project Computational Thinking. Interdisciplinarity in Robotics and Art projects for 2,5 hours, held on Tue 26 Nov 2024.
- Workshop with resources for Robotics and Art projects in blended learning learning contexts for 2,5 hours, held on Thu 28 Non 2024.
- Overview of FERTILE design methodology and co-design of interdisciplinary projects through the FERTILE Community Platform for 3 hours, held on Tue 3 Dec 2024.
Also, participants were involved in online asynchronous activities using the “FERTILE” training materials, and they elaborated their own interdisciplinary projects that were revised based on the assessment and feedback provided by the trainers.
