The 2nd “FERTILE” training in Slovakia organised by Comenius University!
The second Slovak FERTILE training event was organised in a blended format at the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia (https://fmph.uniba.sk/) and it included one face-to-face phases, two online synchronous phases, and two online asynchronous phases. During the face-to-face and online synchronous phases, the trainees were introduced to the following topics:
- Introduction to the FERTILE Project. Computational Thinking. Interdisciplinarity in Robotics and Art projects – October 12, 2024 (3,5 hours F2F in the morning)
- Integrating Educational Robotics and Art – workshop, hands-on activities, initial concept for their own Artful Educational Robotics Project – October 12, 2024 (3,5 hours F2F in the afternoon)
- Overview of FERTILE design methodology, ER simulators and co-design of interdisciplinary projects through the FERTILE Community Platform – October 26, 2024 (3 hours online synchronous)
In between these phases, participants were involved in online asynchronous activities through videos and other online resources, and they elaborated their own interdisciplinary projects that were presented during an online phase (November 16, 2024). The projects were revised based on the peer review and assessment and feedback provided by the trainers.
The primary scope of the training was to empower educators to design interdisciplinary projects that combine Educational
Robotics and Arts, aiming to cultivate students’ Computational Thinking skills in a blended learning context.
18 Slovak educators from primary, lower and upper secondary education, originating from either Informatics or Arts disciplines, participated in the second training event
