Training

The “FERTILE” training aimed to:

  • Trigger educators to integrate the “FERTILE” methodology in their educational practice by applying an experiential approach, allowing them to have a learning experience that is relevant to their students.
  • Promote the importance of the “teacher as designer” role in educational practice and trigger educators to build on the current practice and experience and extend it in an interdisciplinary context.
  • Stimulate the creation and sustainability of an educator community around the “FERTILE” community  platform. Members of this community are anticipated to have a design-thinking mindset around Artful ER projects that will be maintained throughout the community after implementing the project.

Tasks and Milestones

To deliver the “FERTILE” training, the consortium organised two tasks:

Task 4.1 included the organisation, implementation and evaluation of pilot studies by the Greek, Spanish, Slovak and Czech partners. These studies aimed to provide feedback about the development of the “FERTILE” design methodology, community platform, training materials and training events to synthesise their final versions before the “FERTILE” training in main training events.

Around 70 participants in these pilot studies were academic tutors and pre & in-service teachers who provided their feedback.

The milestone 4.1 accomplished was the

Evaluation report of the “FERTILE” training in the pilot studies” 

Task 4.2 included the organisation and implementation of training events in Greece, Spain, Slovakia and Czechia. These main training events utilised the final versions of the “FERTILE” project results and communicated them to the educational community.

In total, 17 trainers carried out the training events. 

Out of 316 registered educators, 252 trainees completed the training.

These  training events were realised based on the organisation suggested below, which was adapted to the particular partner context.

Report on the “FERTILE” training” 

Concretely, this result involved utilising the other three project results comprehensively to train academic tutors, pre-service teachers, and in-service teachers to design and implement Artfull ER projects with their students. 

The Training Schema of a “FERTILE” training suggested, along with its complementary training materials, enables future organisations of training events.
